Washington, DC – August 16, 2022— The SmarterSafer Coalition issued the following statement regarding the climate resilience efforts within the Inflation Reduction Act.
“SmarterSafer appreciates the inclusion of climate resilience provisions within the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as the Biden administration’s investment of $2.3 billion to bolster communities’ defenses against climate change.
This legislation includes key backing into our resilience against harmful and costly natural disasters. The $369 billion commitment from the Inflation Reduction Act is integral for improving pre-disaster mitigation.”
SmarterSafer is a national coalition made up of a diverse chorus of voices united in favor of environmentally responsible, fiscally sound approaches to natural catastrophe policy that promote public safety.
